Overview
On this 8-Day safari in the Southern Circuit of Tanzania you will have an opportunity to experience a real African safari in the most unexplored wilderness areas of Tanzania that are little visited by the tourists. This safari is designed for those who wish to experience a remarkable off-the-beaten path adventure. Whether you are a solo traveler, a couple, family or a group of women only, it is perfect safari for you if you want to enjoy wildlife viewing with few other travelers around.
This safari takes you away from the most known tourists’ spots. It starts with a safari on a boat along the Rufiji River in the Nyerere National Park (formerly known as Selous Game Reserve) followed by 2 days of game drives then fly to Ruaha National Park. Selous is a home to the rare wild dogs and other wilderness and Ruaha offers a spectacular landscape as well as an excellent wildlife viewing especially of predators like large herds of lions and the endangered wild dogs. Elephants and big variety of antelopes are also common in Ruaha National Park.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Dar es Salaam Airport
Upon arrival at Dar es Salaam Airport (DAR), you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Dar es salaam city for relaxation after your International flight. Dar es Salaam city is a gateway to all Tanzania’s Southern circuit parks

Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park (Selous)
Morning after breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and driven to Nyerere National Park. It takes 5 hours drive away from Dar es Salaam city. You will arrive at your camp/lodge in time for lunch. After a few hours of relaxation; you will go for a boat safari along the Rufiji River. Return to the camp/lodge in the evening after a beautiful sunset view.

Day 3 & 4: Nyerere National Park
You have an option of full day game drives or morning and afternoon game drives. You can discuss with your guide. Nyerere National Park is the largest park in Tanzania it offers a wide range of habitats to explore from grassland savannah to flood plains and miombo woodland and it is a home to variety of wildlife including the African wild dogs, lion prides, elephants, giraffes to mention few.

Day 5: Nyerere National Park to Ruaha National Park.
Optional walking safari, then transfer to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Ruaha National Park. Upon arrival at Ruaha, you will be welcomed by the camp driver and transfer to your camp/lodge. Arrive in time hot lunch, and then go for evening game drives in the Ruaha National Park.
Ruaha is one the parks with the highest concentrations of predators in Africa and a wonderfully rare wild animals to find nowdays. Ruaha has high population of lions that goes hand in hand with healthy buffalo herds. Leopards are always found in this park with majority of travelers. Other animals like elephants, zebras, giraffes, and hippopotamus and antelope species such as eland, impalas, reedbuck, gazelles and hartebeest are plentiful too.

Day 6 & 7: Ruaha National Park
Enjoy 2 days of game drives explore Ruaha National Park. You can do morning and afternoon game drives or full day game drives with picnic lunches. Optional night game drive is available on one of the nights (advance booking required).

Day 8: Ruaha National Park to Dar es Salaam
Optional morning walking safari with an armed ranger (advance booking required), transfer to the Airstrip to catch your flight to Dar es Salaam Airport to connect with your departure flight. Please let us know if you would like to extend your trip to Zanzibar.
