Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Selous/ Nyerere National Park. Boat Safari
You will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and driven to Nyerere National Park. The journey will take about 5 hours and will take you through Tanzania’s most unexplored and untouched areas. Arrive in Nyerere National Park in the afternoon for hot lunch at the camp. After a relaxing afternoon, go for a boat safari to see hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat as well as other wildlife as they come to the river to drink some water.
Safaris on boats are ideal for viewing Hippos, Crocodiles, as well as numerous types of birds, including the African Fish Eagle and Boehm’s Bee-Eater (among others). We normally recommend the sunset boat safari, this is where the boat will stop so that you can stretch your legs and drink some cool drinks.
